Bosnian Language

Bosnian is widely spoken among the Bosniaks. It is the standard version of Serbo-Croatian language, which consists of Serbian, Bosnian, and Croatian. Due to their commonalities, they are referred to as the Serbo-Croatian language. Bosnian is also known as one of the South Slavic languages.

Due to the Balkan conflict, different national groups established their own official languages, and the term Bosnian is used to describe the official language of Bosnia-Hercegovina. The language used to be referred to as Serbo-Croat. As a result of the conflict, statistics on the number of speakers are inexact, but it is estimated that there are approximately 4 million speakers of Bosnian in Bosnia-Hercegovina. In total, 21 million people throughout the world speak a variation of the formerly shared Serbo-Croat language.

Serbo-Croatian and Shtokavian dialects, particularly from Eastern Herzegovinia, form the basis of standard Bosnian. In addition to Bosnian, these dialects also form the basis for the standard forms of Serbian, Croatian, and Montenegrin. The division of SFR Yugoslavia has resulted in four official standardised languages determined by their nations and native speakers. It is no longer called the Serbo-Croatian language, though that term is still used today in English for purposes of categorisation, due to their similar vocabulary, grammar, and syntax.

Bosnian Australia electronic translation

Standard Bosnian involves the use of the Latin alphabet, but it should also be noted that Serbo-Croatian languages have borrowed various words from Turkish, Arabic, and Persian, due to the spread of Islamic cultures. The introduction of Arebica (Matufovica) which had replaced the Bosnian Cyrillic (Bosančica) as a result of the spread of Islam validates this fact. Since Arebica was the successor script to the Bosnian language, the elites were the first ones to use this language. It then slowly became popular among the public, eventually making Bosnian Cyrillic (Bosančica) extinct. Though not found in Serbian or Croatian languages, Bosnian contains several Germanisms which had been used from the time of the Austro-Hungarian empires.

In Bosnian, every noun has a gender: feminine (usually ending with an “a” in the singular and an “e” or “i” in the plural), masculine (usually ending with a consonant in the singular and an “i” in the plural), and neuter (usually ending with an “o” in the singular and an “a” in the plural). There are also exceptions to these rules. Gender determines the noun’s declension. There are seven cases: nominative, genitive, dative, accusative, instrumental, locative, and vocative. There are no definite or indefinite articles in Bosnian.

The Bosnian language is notable for having its first official dictionary at the beginning of 1630s, authored by Muhamed Hevaji Uskufi, whereas in Serbian, it was printed only in the mid-nineteenth century. Written evidence and records, along with the authenticated declaration of the Charter of Ban Kulin, the oldest state document to have been written in Bosančica in Balkans, confirm that Bosnian was the official language of the country ever since it was Kingdom of Bosnia.

Bengali Language

Bengali is the seventh most spoken language in the world, with a total of 250 million speakers, of which 220 million are native speakers. Bengali has its own script and a rich body of literature. The national anthems of both India and Bangladesh were composed in Bengali. Bengali, being an Indo-Aryan language, is widely spoken in Southeast Asia and in Bangladesh, which was once a part of British India formerly known as East Benga.

The origin of Bengali and other Eastern Indo-Aryan languages dates back to circa 1000–1200 CE, and they were derived from the dialects of Middle Eastern Indo-Aryan languages like Prakrit, Magadhi, and Pali, which all were derived from the Vedic and Classical Sanskrit. During the Bengali Renaissance, the spelling of classical Sanskrit was used, though it was pronounced like Bengali rather than Sanskrit. Based upon the dialect spoken in the Nadia region in west-central Bengal, the modern literary Bengali evolved in late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. It also consists of two forms: the vernacular language commonly spoken in the region, and the more formal, erudite language. Hence, it could be considered a diglossia language. Bengali, based on its literary form and dialects, is the national language of Bangladesh, and is different from the language being spoken in West Bengal in usage, tone of voice, and phonetics. It is the second most widely spoken language in India.

newsletter translator Bengali

Bengali is a major component of the Bengali nationalism that unites the culturally diverse region with its literary tradition, as a result of the Bengali Renaissance. East Bengal, when under Pakistani control, formed a Bengali Language Movement in order to recognize Bengali as the state language and to preserve the Bengali script. This occurred on 21 February 1952. There were violent protests, and many people were killed, but the goal was achieved and the day is still observed in Bangladesh as Language Movement Day. This led to the UNESCO declaration on 17 November, 1999, that 21 February be observed as “International Mother Language Day” in order to help create an awareness of multilingualism as well as multiculturalism.

The Bengali alphabet is a syllabic alphabet in which consonants all have an inherent vowel with two different pronunciations. The choice of pronunciation is not always easy to determine, and it is sometimes not pronounced at all. Vowels can be written as independent letters or by using a variety of diacritical marks which are written above, below, before, or after the consonant they belong to. When consonants occur together in clusters, special conjunct letters are used so that the letters for the consonants, other than the final one in the group, are reduced.

The inherent vowel only applies to the final consonant. Bengali has a subject-object-verb word order. It makes use of postpositions, instead of the prepositions found in English. There is no grammatical gender in Bengali. Adjectival and nominal morphology is light, while verbs are highly inflected. Verbs are inflected for person, tense, and honorific, but not for number. The spelling system is based on an older version of the language, and thus does not take into account some vowel mergers that have taken place in the spoken language; thus, it cannot be described as a completely phonemic orthography.

Amharic Language

Amharic is a Semitic language spoken in Ethiopia. It is the second-most spoken Semitic language in the world, after Arabic, and the official working language of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. Thus, it has official status and is used nationwide. Amharic is also the official or working language of several of the states within the federal system. It has been the working language of government, the military, and the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church throughout medieval and modern times.

It is spoken in many specific regions such as Addis Ababa, the Amhara Region, the Benishangul-Gumuz Region, the Dire Dawa Administrative council, and the Gambela Region. Outside Ethiopia, Amharic is the language of some 2.7 million emigrants. It is written using Amharic Fidel, ፊደል, which grew out of the Ge'ez abugida—called, in Ethiopian Semitic languages, ፊደል fidel ("alphabet", "letter", or "character") and አቡጊዳ abugida (from the first four Ethiopic letters, which gave rise to the modern linguistic term abugida).

Due to the rise in emigration, Amharic has now been included in various computer software packages, with public service organisations including Amharic as another vital language among their list of translation and interpretation services. It is a language that is still spoken by some 2.7 million emigrants. These Amharic speakers have significant numbers in Canada, the US, and Sweden and the language is also growing in Australia.

accurate Amharic translation

There is no agreed way of transliterating Amharic into Roman characters. The Amharic examples in the sections below use one system that is common, though not universal, among linguists specializing in Ethiopian Semitic languages.

Similar to many languages, Amharic uses gendered language when describing most things. Another interesting fact is that male and female nouns and pronouns can also be used to convey certain emotions. For example, female pronouns can be used to indicate that something is petite or delicate, or even to express sympathy. It is hard to understand this concept making this language quite complete and tremendously beautiful.

There is also an increasing literature being written in Amharic. This literature is beginning to span many genres such as novels, poems, government documentation, educational and religious books, technical manuals and medical journals and papers of significance.

Amharic uses an alphasyllabary, or abugida, which is a writing system based on the pairing of consonants with vowels. Every character in the Amharic language represents a consonant and vowel pairing. Many symbols have a very similar look to each other, but this is partly because the consonants look very different to each other. Vowels are rather supplemental. Often native speakers can identify words by their consonants alone not needing the vowels to be included.

The Amharic language also has a small number of differentiations between who you are speaking to, and their gender, in terms of personal pronouns. Similar to English, the Amharic language also showspositions in terms of demonstrative pronouns, such as “these” and “those”. There is no neutral pronoun, but only feminine or masculine ones.

Amharic is such an interesting language. It is a language the Translationz provides translation services either certified or non-certified work.

Arabic Language

Arabic Language

Arabic is the term used for the successors of the classical Arabic language of the sixth century AD, and consists of both the literary language as well as the different forms of Arabic spoken in different parts of the world, from the Middle East to North Africa to the Horn of Africa. Arabic originates from the Afro-Asiatic language family.

The literary language is referred to as Literary Arabic or Modern Standard Arabic, and it is the sole official form of Arabic to be widely used in professional documents and formal spoken events such as lectures and news broadcasts (though this may vary from one nation to another). In 1912, Moroccan Arabic was the official language of Morocco prior to the unification of Morocco with the Arab League.

The Arabic Languages belong to the class of Central Semitic Languages. They are quite closely related to Hebrew, Phoenician, Aramaic, and Ugaritic. The standard written form of Arabic is quite different from, and more traditional than, the spoken forms of the language. The two coexist in state of diglossia, with one or the other being used depending upon the nature of the particular occasion or event.

There are some varieties of Arabic that are mutually unintelligible in both their spoken and their written forms. These varieties together form a sociolinguistic language, which implies that in linguistic terms, they might be regarded as consisting of more than one language. However, for religious or political reasons, they are still considered part of a single language. When taking into account these multiple languages, it is impossible to determine how many actual dialects there are, since the spoken variety has no borders. If we consider Arabic a single language, then there are approximately 442 million speakers who use it as their first language, which makes it among the six most widely spoken languages in the world. However, if we consider Arabic to consist of many separate languages, then the most widely spoken variety would be Egyptian Arabic, which is the eleventh most widely spoken language and the native language of 54 million people—quite a large number when compared with speakers of other Semitic languages.

Arabic is the official language of the 22 countries which form the Arab League. It is the native language of over 200 million people residing in the geographical region stretching from Southwest Asia to Northwest Africa, also known as the Arab World. Arabic is also the liturgical language of over a billion Muslims around the world, and the language in which the القرآن, Qur'an, the Holy Book of Islam, was revealed.

Arabic technology translation

The “formal” Arabic language known as Classical Arabic, or الفصحى, Fus-ha, is the language in which the Qur’an is written, and it is considered to be the basis for the syntactical and grammatical norms of the Arabic language. This classical form of Arabic remains widely used by religious scholars and is taught in schools around the world. However, it is today considered to be more a written language than a spoken one.

Modern Standard Arabic, or MSA, is similar to Classical Arabic, but easier. It is understood across the Arab world and commonly used by television presenters and politicians, as well as in teaching Arabic as a foreign language. MSA can also be found in newspapers and works of modern Arabic literature.

In terms of spoken Arabic, there are many different dialects. An Arabic speaker from Iraq, for example, would find it almost impossible to understand a local Algerian, and vice-versa, even though both individuals are speaking a particular form of the Arabic dialect. Both, however, would be able to communicate in Modern Standard Arabic.
Arabic is a Semitic language, and therefore shares similarities with other Semitic languages such as Aramaic and Hebrew.

Several languages use the Arabic alphabet in their writing, such as Persian/Farsi, Urdu, Pashto, and Kurdish. Arabic learners would be able to read the letters and pronounce words or sentences written in any of those languages, but they would not necessarily understand what they were reading!
