The Role:
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Translation Project Coordinator to join our Melbourne team. This is a dynamic, hands-on, client-facing role responsible for the end-to-end management of translation projects of varying size and complexity. The successful candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs are understood and met, and that our internal teams and language professionals are aligned to deliver high-quality, on-time, and on-budget translation services.
In this role, you’ll be working in a fast-paced environment. You will oversee projects from quote to delivery and invoicing, while building strong relationships with clients and contributing to the overall growth of Translationz.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full life cycle of multilingual translation projects, ensuring quality, timeliness, and cost-efficiency
- Engage directly with clients to gather requirements, set expectations, and provide updates throughout the project lifecycle
- Coordinate all project phases including quoting, resource assignment, scheduling, and quality assurance
- Address challenges and obstacles proactively to keep projects on track and clients informed
- Cultivate long-term relationships with clients, including identifying opportunities and new service needs
- Support the broader Client Services team through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and cross-coverage as needed
- Participate in team meetings, contribute ideas for continuous improvement, and assist with process refinement
- Represent Translationz at industry events, conferences, and networking functions to build our brand and identify opportunities
Key Skills & Experience:
We are looking for someone with a combination of technical project coordination ability and outstanding interpersonal skills. You will ideally bring:
- A degree in linguistics, translation, communications, or a related field; or relevant industry experience
- Experience in a project coordination role within the language services or a related industry preferred
- Strong client service orientation with the ability to build trust and rapport across stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A solutions-focused mindset with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- A collaborative team player who can also work independently and take ownership of projects
- Familiarity with translation management systems (TMS), CAT tools (such as memoQ, Trados, Phrase, etc)
- An understanding of translation workflows and quality assurance best practices
- A proactive attitude and commitment to continuous learning and improvement
