NAATI is currently seeking suitably qualified individuals interested in joining one of the NAATI Examiner Panels. Panel Members assist with the setting and marking translation and interpreting tests. The National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI) is responsible for the setting and monitoring of standards for the Translator and Interpreter profession in Australia. It conducts examinations in different language combinations, for levels of translator and interpreter competence in 60 community languages, where one of those two languages is English.
NAATI is currently seeking suitably qualified individuals who may be interested in joining one of the NAATI Examiner Panels. Members of these Panels assist with the setting and marking of the translation and interpreting tests.
NAATI requires members of the panels to have the following qualifications:
possess a tertiary qualification preferably in Translation and/or Interpreting or an appropriate discipline
NAATI Professional level accreditation in the language in question if practicable
a high level of competence in both English and the language other than English
substantial experience as a practitioner in translation and/or interpreting.
Other factors that would be desirable include:
proven experience in setting and marking tests, if not through a translation/interpreting course then in another related academic or teaching capacity
eminent status as an academic or practitioner in the relevant language or skill area
residence in Australia for at least two years
sound understanding of the translation and interpreting profession in Australia.
